The FTP Screenlet allows you to simply upload files and directories to your FTP server by dropping them onto the screenlet.

  • Supports multiple files and directories.
  • Automatically compresses files and directories [optional].
  • FTP runs threaded in the background: Therefore you can queue files while it is uploading.
  • Notifications.

[edit] Dependencies

This Screenlet has now additional dependencies that I'd know of

[edit] Installation

Install the archive via the screenlet-manager or extract it to ~/.screenlets/

[edit] Configuration

Before you can upload anything, you'll need to configure a FTP-server. Rightclick on the screenlet and select Properties. Now go to Options->FTP.

[edit] FTP server

Set an FTP server here. E.g. ftp.my-domain.tld.

[edit] FTP port

Which port do you want to use? This will be port 21 in most cases.

[edit] Username/Password

Your FTP's account data.

[edit] FTP remote path

Where should upload be stored? Default is /

[edit] Open command

You can execute a command when you leftclick on the screenlet. Enter this command here.

[edit] Enable Notifications

Show a notification if a file was transfered to the FTP-server.

[edit] Compression

If checked, any file / directory will be compressed before it is uploaded.

[edit] If Compression is enabled: Single files?

If this option is checked, the FTPScreenlet will not compress all dropped files into ONE archive but into single archives. Excepted directories, of course: These will be compressed as a whole.
